Americana / Blues / Bluegrass
Tommy Ring: Guitar, Harp, and Vocals.Danny Tetrault: Mandolin, Guitar, and Vocals.Phil Edgerton: Bass Fiddle, Sax, and Vocals.
One day, brothers Tommy and Danny had to ride from Asheville to Memphis. Both guitarists and vocalists, Tommy having played in blues-based and "Dylanesque" bands , Danny having played in HEAVY bands such as Myrtle Beach's Porkchop. Tommy had to drive the rental so Danny got to play Tommy's new Mandolin (he had it a week) and, in the roughly 16 hours of driving there and back, proceeded to become the bastard child of David Grisman and some bizarre Gypsy woman. Sounds not heard YET came out of the mandolin....Well, what was Tommy to do but give Danny the mandolin and start a frickin' band!!! All that was needed was the bottom end....From the hills of Western North Carolina came the Bassist emeritus, Mr. Phil Edgerton. Playing a Stand-Up bass like it was a long-lost lover, the "Rhinoceros" also provides the missing third vocal and tenor sax when we can talk him into it!...Even more interesting, all three are not right in the head and have absolutely no concept of musical barriers....So, take a pinch of Blues, a dash of Old-Timey Americana...a sprinkle of Rock-n-Roll and a hefty dose of Improvisational Insanity and you have the gumbo that is...BROTHER FATBACK.---Always satisfying, Brother Fatback will leave you hungry for more.
